Chris and Maya - We have never met, but i have learned about Gio through friends including Ann Graffeo. Please know Gio has been in my thoughts and prayers. I was so happy to see him on the news when you went to Disney world. His smile touches my heart when i see his picture. I met Gio vicariously through Chris who is a customer/friend of mine. I was deeply grieved when I received the news...still saddened in my heart. Gio was a special lil boy,his attitude about life was huge,with all his hospital trips and stuff he made sure to enjoy the fancy things, he truly is an angel! His inspiration will live on with his memory! My thoughts and prayers are with his family!

I started working at the Columbus 3 yrs ago. I was blessed and lucky enough to have Gio in the class my first year. Gio made each day an adventure. A different hat, certain character 'super gio', or some interesting story, he made life in the classroom entertaining. I think my favorite Gio moments are a tie between two: The debate of what teacher was his favorite- K or C. And ...Having the entire 5 the graders attention, and as they were singing to him he says ...." wait, I'm Giovanni Thomas Maggiore".... "now keep singing"! ?? You taught me so much my friend. From the various walks, fundraisers and Storyland trips my every interaction with GIO was extremely memorable. A young brave boy he was and so stinkin' funny. I'm so deeply saddened by this, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was a true CHD hero in every sense the word.

I never had the opportunity to meet Gio and only know of him through someone who knows him well. But even from a distance, I was touched by his passing and even more so by his life. I cannot for one moment imagine the impact he had on those that were blessed in life to know him and be around him...all of his family and so many friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. I hope knowing that your little angel is at peace will bring some comfort to you. I send my dearest condolences to the Maggiore family. I was a former elementary student of Mrs. Maggiore, she was a great and caring teacher. I remember Giovanni was a baby when I was in her class. From the beginning, we knew he was a special and beautiful boy. I'm so sorry for the the family's loss. I cannot imagine what it's like to lose a child, but my heart aches at the passing of Giovanni. The Maggiore family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I wish the Maggiore family peace and love as they grieve Giovanni's passing. May his memory live on.

To Gio's Family and Friends, I don't know you guys, but I read the story about Legoland naming their giraffe after Gio. Gio's story touched my heart, I can't imagine how difficult this is for you guys and the pain you must feel. By reading about him, I could tell he was a very special little boy and he did become famous, he has touched the heart of people all over who have never met him.
