Heartfelt sympathies to Gina, Maria, Sabrina, Steven and Marianna and also to ALL of Luigi's grandchildren from Bill and I. We are sad that we cannot be there; health prevents us from traveling back to MA at this time. We are there with you ALL in mind and in spirit. Those of us who knew and loved Luigi fondly remember his sense of humor and his ability to love and laugh no matter what. We shall all miss the pleasure of his presence and the strength of his smile. He never let life get him down! I can still remember the first time I met Luigi, it was only days after he first arrived in America; he lived with his sister Maddalena and his brother-in-law Joe. Luigi came to my home with Maddalena and Joe together with his sister Marianna; they had all come to visit Sal and I at our home in Saugus to see our newborn baby Tara whom we had just brought home from the hospital. I shall never forget watching Luigi shuffle over to the crib, reach down and pick Tara up and hold her in his arms, and close to his heart; he was laughing and talking to her in Italian and then suddenly he began to rock her in his arms as he danced around the room singing a song he versed in his homeland Scilian language. I remember thinking to myself, what a loving and caring man this is; how gentle he is with a child and how much he enjoys laughing with a child. I thought to myself, 'someday he will make some lucky children, a great dad!' AND didn't he do just that!!! Luigi over the years became Americanized; he went on to learn English and retrofit every part of his being to that of a handsome American man BUT he never forgot the language, AND traditions of his roots. Love of family, laughter, dancing and song were his gifts to all who met and knew him. The years passed and sadder days would leave me widowed. I then traveled with my single unmarried girlfriends and would often meet up with Luigi at popular singles dances. He continued to dance his way through life! We became dancing partners and often danced together; I think he taught me his successful recipe for life...to dance no matter what! My single friends looked on with envy; I would ask Luigi to dance with them and they would stumble; they could not keep up with him they said! Luigi shared the talent of being a great dancer for me only with my Sal and dancing with Luigi sparked the joy of many happy memories for me. May Luigi now join my Sal and may they both dance forever in heaven. Save a dance for me Luigi and until we all will be together again....dance on Luigi, sing and laugh forever in perfect rhythm and peace forever!
