Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Toomey family. We are very sorry for your loss. Father Jack was a kind, soft spoken man that we were always glad to see when he came to Rural Ave for a visit. I have many fond memories as a child throwing a football or baseball or playing wiffle ball with "Uncle Jack". He brought a lot of joy to everyone that knew him and he will truly be missed. God Bless and Rest In Peace. Gunther Martin and family.

To Jack's Family: On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students at Laboure College, please accept our sympathy on Jack's passing. Though it has been a while since he taught here, there are still folks who remember his intellect, wit, and laugh. We remember him with great fondness. Maureen A. Smith, President-Laboure College

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Fr. Toomey. Jack and I taught for years at Laboure[I was the Microbiology Prof.]He was instrumental in getting me a rental in Watertown,MA when he was at Sacred Heart Parish. When we did the dual seminar at Carney Hospital on Fr. Damien of Molokai-he brought me a Hawaiian shirt from his visit there. He was loved by the students and I was honored to be elected along with him by the Laboure students to be the graduation marshals at commencement for years. He was a fine man, a humble priest and a great colleague and friend. Truly, "A man for all seasons". We will miss you Jack. Pax et Bonum

Dear Alice, Michael, Richard & Christopher, It should comfort you to know that Fr. Jack is experiencing perfect happiness, joy, health & peace in Heaven. St. Paul said (1 Corinthians 2:9) "No eye has seen, no ear heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him." Fr. Jack has completed his earthly journey - he glorified the Lord every day with his life. Someday, when your journey on earth has been completed, you will be reunited with Fr. Jack and experience the "Easter which never ends". Dominus vobis cum - how often Fr. Jack said these words on earth - now, it is his wish from Heaven... to you!

I knew Jack for 60 years and we became great friends. I spoke with him just before he passed. Due to having cancer I was not able to come to be with him. I send sympathy to the Toomey family. Jack spoke of his family with great love and pride. I am now a cancer survivor and I will speak to Jack in prayer. Joan Castrucci Marceau
