Dearest Gloria, Lee Ann and Laura, We were so very sorry to get the word that Ersel has entered his heavenly home-not sorry for him, but sorry for me, Jim and our family. We are glad he is no longer suffering, but we are so sorry for your loss. He was a dear friend and someone we looked up to. We will keep you and the family in our prayers. We are so sorry we will not be there for the services. We would have come if we could have. Much love to you all.

Gloria King, Jr. Family, GARY and I are so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband of 57 years, your Dad and your Grandfather. I wish it were possible for us to make the trip to Water Valley to be with all of you and attend all the services, however it will not be possible. We are remembering you in our prayers now, tomorrow and in the days ahead. We know Ersel will be greatly missed especially by Gloria. Let us hear from you and come to Prentiss soon.

Gloria, Lea Anne, Laura, and family, We were heartbroken to hear of Ersel's death. Ersel was one of the "Water Valley" cousins that we grew up with for a while way back in 1937-1939 and then saw fairly frequently beyond that after we moved close to the Memphis area. Ersel was a kind and genuine human being. I think my best way to describe him is to say that "Ersel was always Ersel." Not a lot of outward show, but deep down inside, a deeply caring and loving person. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
