Charlie and I became friends while he was working at the Holland Funeral Home. He attended church faithfully at West Main Church of Christ when in Tupelo, attended there with me. We became good friends and as stated in his obituary,he would always tell me about his wonderful years with his wife, Betty. He had a great love for her. I will always remember Charles for his kindness and smile. He and Betty were two of my favorite people. He will be truly missed.I will never forget the encourgement they gave me when I was installed in the Taylor Post Office as post master.They were two of the first ones to arrive at the ceremony.Charles had a smile that would melt your heart.
