Antonio Augusto Oliveira, age 80 of Fall River, passed away May 18, 2012 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Medeiros) Oliveira. Born in Santo Antonio, Alem Capelás, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Antonio Augusto & Maria de Lourdes (Viveiros) Oliveira. Prior to retiring, Mr. Oliveira worked for Quaker fabric Co. as a Machine Operator. He was a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church.
Besides his wife of Fall River, he is survived by his 5 children: Mary Lou Furtado (husband Tony) of Fall River, Joe Oliveira (wife Stacey) of Dartmouth, Steven Oliveira (wife Marsha) of Maine, Paul G. Oliveira (wife Nicole) of Assonet, and Edward Oliveira (wife Natalie) of Dartmouth; siblings: Duarte & Jaime Oliveira both of São Miguel, Açores, and Gilberto Oliveira of Canada; 8 grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. He was the father of the late Antonio Oliveira and the brother of the late Maria de Lourdes Ferreira, Joáo Augusto Oliveira, and José Augusto Oliveira.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on TUESDAY here at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on MONDAY 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
