Irene M. (Zubrzynski) Wright age 85, of Brockton died peacefully Thursday September 9, 2010 at her home. She was the loving wife for 58 years of the late Dr. Robert F. Wright, Esq. Irene was born in Cambridge and raised and educated in Chelsea the daughter of the late Wladek and Marianna (Giers) Zubrzynski. For over fifty years she had been a resident of Brockton. A 1946 graduate of New England Hospital for Women and Children, Irene was a registered nurse. She retired from New England Sinai Hospital and had also worked at The Embassy House Nursing Home.
Irene was an avid gardener frequently doing her own cuttings. She enjoyed cookbooks and recipe collecting and was an adventurous cook. She also enjoyed reading. Irene loved her pets and all animals and was a member of the MSPCA. She also was a volunteer reading mentor at the Raymond School. Her greatest enjoyment was found with her family and friends. Irene had been a longtime communicant of St. Edward Church.
She is survived by her six children Dr. Robert F. Wright, Jr. of Pembroke, Michael J. Wright of Quincy, Dr. Paula S. Wright of Cambridge, Lawrence W. Wright, Peter J. Wright and Mary A. Wright (formerly Guaraldi) all of Brockton. Irene also leaves seven grandchildren and a great grandson.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 9:30 am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King/St. Colman Parish at 10:30 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
