Louis J. Brady, age 78, of Brockton, died Tuesday September 18, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband of the late Jean B. (Fisher) Brady. Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late George E. and Marjorie G. (Price) Brady. Louis was raised in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1951. Louis joined the management program of F.W. Woolworth Company, where he served as a manager in several cities, eventually settling in Rutland, VT for many years. While living in Rutland, he raised his family and tirelessly served his community in leadership positions, including president of the Rotary Club, Red Cross and United Way. He was also instrumental in the redevelopment of the local downtown area. After Louis’s retirement from Woolworth’s, he and Jean moved back home to Brockton to enjoy time with their family and friends.
He is survived by his three sons, James Brady and his wife Pamela of Toledo, OH; Robert Brady of Glendale, CA and William Brady and his wife Leah of Sharpsburg, GA and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday 9 to 10am followed by a funeral home service at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
