I had the privilege of teaching with Fran at the Franklin School when she came out of retirement. She brought new life into our school and touched the heart of many children and teachers. She will always be remembered. My prayers to her family Connie Carven

Thoughts of my Great Aunt Fran: As the news of Fran's passing sinks in, feelings of sorrow and fond memories laced with nostalgia emerge, as well as a fuller awareness and acknowledgment of the important role Fran played in my childhood. Truth be told it was Great Aunt Fran who played the functional role of Grand Parent to my brother Mike and I, as we did not have any significant relationship with our paternal or maternal Grandparents. Looking back it is clear to me how much Fran was both parental mentor to my mother, and provider of unconditional love to Mike and I every time we were in her presence. Likewise, if there was anyone who created a sense of extend family for us it was Aunt Fran. Her values, love, and life lessons were also felt by Mike & I through the large influence she had on our late Aunt Ellen, who we always considered was more of a big sister to us. With 5+ decades of life behind me, it is with a more informed perspective that I see how much Fran swayed to better the lives those around her. In retrospect, I'm thankful for her purposeful efforts to stay connected with us all and how she has sown worthy values into the minds her immediate and extended family. To Megan and Julie, My heart goes out to each of you. Your mom raised two marvelous daughters who I have always admired and looked up to. Know that feelings of loss, and fond memories of your mom are shared by your larger family, and friends. Most Sincerely and with warmest love - Marc
