CONDOLENCES (GuestBook)

West Roxbury, MA,
Alice could give a hug from across the room with just her smile. She was a role model of professionalism, a strong work ethic, passion to help the less fortunate and for someone with balance in life: God, her family, her community and her work. My life was richer knowing Alice and it was always so heartwarming to have her as my cheerleader whether I was starting to learn to be a new mom, launching my master's studies at Suffolk or beginning a new job. I am grateful for the support she always showered on me. My thoughts are with Bill, Sean, Paula and the entire family as you mourn at this time.

I am so deeply sorry for Alice's passing. She cared so passionately about West Roxbury in particular and Boston as a whole. She was a wonderful, loving woman who was a treasure to the city and a joy to all who met her. She will be missed. Love and prayers for your family at this difficult time.

Alice was a force of nature and a wonderful person. Her strength, her moral compass, served as a guide to many of us. She will forever be in our hearts. I feel very fortunate to have known her and benefitted from her wisdom.

My sincerest condolences to the Hennessey family on your loss. I was young and new in City Hall in 1995 and sat not far from Alice's office. She was warm, kind and supportive; answered questions I didn't know who else to ask; and provided excellent counsel, even though I worked for someone else. My thoughts are with you during this sad time.

Dear Hennessey Family, My family and I extend our deepest sympathies in this sad time, Alice was such an important person to me in my professional life and in my development as a person. You will no doubt hear from many others similar sentiments, but it is plain fact that she made the world a much better place and those who knew her, much better people. She will be missed but her good works will live on in us all.

So sorry to hear of the passing of a great lady who did so much for others. I am sorry I couldn't express my sorrow in person, but Alice has left quite a legacy for us to remember her by. The public library in West Roxbury, Millennium Park, West Rox Friends of Rosie's Place are what they are today because of Alice. My sincere condolences to Katie and the rest of the Hennessey family.

I have just heard about Alice's passing and wanted to share what I'm sure is a sentiment that is felt by all who encountered her. I knew her through her work in the Mayor's Office and found her to be as generous with her time as she was with her vast knowledge and her kind heart. I learned so much from Alice during the few years I worked with her on different projects, including how much she treasured her family. I will remember her for all of that and for all of the good work she did to improve the lives of Boston's residents.
