Dear Richard, I was greatly saddened to read the Globe death notice about your Mother. We can never really appreciate a Mother's love and generosity until they have departed us. To both the acts of joyful and painful remembrances, they will never be forgotten. I will also never forget how kindly you were in coming to my Mother's wake and funeral in W.R. some dozen years ago. The last few years have treated me rather poorly, hospital, rehab and forced to sell my home and move temporarily to Westport. Consequently, I won't be able to attend the funeral mass at St. T' but my prayers are sent with true affection.
