Mary Jane and Susan, I'm sorry for the loss of your brother Ned. I'm not sure I met him a long time ago through my sister Kathleen but I'm sure if I did he was as friendly and considerate as all the Mulvanitys. I met Ned at my father's wedding, in 1958... to Marie Driscoll who was a close friend of Ned's parents. Ned and I hit it off well, immediately, due to our mutual love of politics, Boston sports, and Boston culture. Even though I moved to San Francisco in 1969, I remained Ned's close friend. We talked a few times each year, on the phone, and would visit every other year, on my visits back to West Roxbury... Ned was smart, humorous, and loyal.... If he was your friend, you had a friend for life...Through him and his Michigan State days, I met Fred Arbanas, who went on to a Hall of Fame career with the K.C. Chiefs of the AFL, < now NFL>. I will really miss him. "Class" all the way!!
