I grew up a couple houses down from Gertrude and her sister Helen. Though I'm now 35, I remember Gertrude very fondly from my childhood. It is very sad that she has passed, but she lived a good life and touched many. My condolences to everyone in her family; I'm sure she will be missed! Love, Jen Feltner

My fondest memories of Aunt Gertrude were during the Christmas holidays, when I would visit my grandma and grandpa in Needham, Massachusetts. On these occasions many members of both the Hawes and the Morrissey families would congregate together in merry conversation. I will always remember Aunt Gertrude, Aunt Helen, and Sister Rita sitting on the couch in the living room together, delighting in their own discourse as much as with those around them. Aunt Gertrude was an exceptional human being and fulfilled every aspect of those three words during her long life.

Aunt Gertrude was an exceptional human being and fulfilled every aspect of this phrase during her long life.
