The restaurant, bar entertainment business has lost a giant of a man this week with the death of John Joe Somers a man who would always light up your day whenever he appeared with that great smile and personality. it was always a pleasure to see him. we here at avenue auction sales and E.F.SMITH&SON will miss his often visits to just sit and talk. the world was a nicer place with him in it so sad to lose a person like john a heart of gold truly one of the finest. we express our deepest sympathy to his wife Ann and all his children and family. John, I will miss you my old pal, I think back when you worked with me at Evergreen Travel and you and Ann cruising the Caribbean with Joanne and me. We always had a great time and you have left us way too early. You will be missed by all who knew you and respected what you and Ann have accomplished in your private and business life. John Joe was our gift here in Boston from Kerry. His restaurants and pubs brought good food,an honest pint, but most of all John Joe gave us spirit, laughter, music and a profound sense of what it meant to be Irish. We will miss his infectious good humor and generous heart.
