Obituary

SPENCER: Mary Veronica (Greenan) Devereux,92, of 23 Howe Village, died Saturday,May 2 in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis.
Her husband J. Ivan Devereux, died in 1982. She leaves her daughter Teresa A. Begley and her husband "Jack"of Dennis, Ma., three grandchildren Melissa Begley of Sturbridge, Kathryn Blevens and her husband Chuck of Seattle, Wa., and Michael Begley and his fiancé Jennifer Bronsdon of Milton, several nephews and nieces including a special niece Marjorie Devereux of Spencer. She is predeceased by brothers James, Ronald and Fred Greenan and a sister Dorothy Dunsford.
Mrs. Devereux worked at the former Kleven Shoe Co.of Spencer and No.Brookfield, before retiring in 1972. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish. She was an avid Red Sox and Celtics Fan.
Born in Brae, Prince Edward Island, Can., she was the daughter of Peter and Mary Ann (Moran) Greenan.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 5 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary,Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. A calling hour will precede the funeral on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Spencer Rescue & Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 147, Spencer or Mary, Queen of the Rosary Memorial Fund, 60 Maple St., Spencer, 01562.
