Obituary

Pearl (Fleurent) Bunnens, 81, of Manchester died February 14, 2011 at Elliot Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Franklin on October 20, 1929 to Laurent and Mary (Beaunoyer) Fleurent. She grew up in Bristol then lived in Manchester for many years.
She graduated from Notre Dame de Lourdes Hospital School of Nursing in Manchester.
Mrs. Bunnens worked as a registered nurse at the former Notre Dame Hospital and Catholic Medical Center for 63 years. In 2007, she was recognized as the oldest registered nurse in the state by the New Hampshire State Board of Nursing.
She was well known for her artistic abilities through paintings, floral designs, carvings and doll making.
IN HER LIFE: She often stated that nursing was her first love. She was a great resource to her colleagues and a mentor and preceptor to many nursing students. She also had a great love for antique “stuff”.
The family includes her husband of 59 years, Richard Bunnens of Manchester; a daughter, Sandra LaVergne and her husband, William, of Manchester; two grandchildren, Aaron R. LaVergne and his wife, Rachel of Hooksett, and Andrea M. LaVergne of Manchester; three great grandchildren, Jabari, Ahmad and Cadence; and other relatives and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2011 at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
