Obituary

Bailey Adolphus “Dot” Green, 82, of Irwin County died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M., Sunday, September 2, 2012, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with Rev. Oscar Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Green was born August 11, 1930 in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Robert Bailey Green and Elda Victoria Young Griffin. Mr. Green moved back to the community in 1986. He was a retired truck driver for M.L. Smith and Wayne Leach. He was a former resident of Atlanta, GA where he worked for Magic Market and he also lived in Miami, Florida. Mr. Green was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife: Josephine Patricia “Pat” Green of Ocilla; children: Lawanna & Cleveland Carey of LaGrange, Debra & David Moretz of Tyrone, Sharon & Richard Bunn of Douglasville, Shirley & Bobby Freeman of Stockbridge, Victoria & Charlie Peters of Barnesville, Allen & Linda Green of Ocilla, Alton Black of Ocilla, and Renea & Bill Chapman of Newnan, 29 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brother: Charles & Jeanne Greene of Rochelle, Carroll & Janet Greene of Ocilla and Herman and Linnie Greene of Rochelle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Beulah Greene and a daughter, Rachel Chapman.
