Daniel Lee “Dan” Griffin, 55, of Liberty, South Carolina, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M. on Wednesday, April 22 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Allen Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Griffin was born August 25, 1953 in Douglas, Georgia to Sue Smith Griffin and the late Raymond E. Griffin, Sr. He lived in Liberty, S.C. for the past nineteen years. Mr. Griffin served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He was owner/operator of Dan’s Mobile Home Contracting. Mr. Griffin was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Telfair County and a member of the American Legion, Post # 151 in Central, S.C.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Griffin of Liberty, SC; daughters & son-in-law, Tara & Victor Cleveland of Anderson, SC and Regina Bass of Liberty, SC; son, Dan Lee Roberson of Ft. Benning, GA; grandchildren, John Thomas Lawrence, Katherine Bass and Joshua Bass; mother, Sue S. Griffin of McRae, GA; sisters & brothers-in-law, June & Vernon Lewis of McRae, GA and Romola & Joe Davis of West Memphis, Arkansas. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elgin Griffin and a sister, Marilyn Powell.
