Craig Allen Morgan, 42, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2013, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Baker and the Rev. Fred Eister officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with his friend, Jaime Coker, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Morgan was born January 25, 1971, in Marietta, Georgia to the late Jerry Allen Morgan and the late Loraine “Tootsie” Grigsby Morgan. He was raised in Irwinville by his grandparents, the late Grady Allen & Mary Lou Ireland Morgan. As a youth, Craig was an active boy scout and participated in many sports including football, baseball, and cross-country. He was a 19-year employee of Brooks Auto Parts in Fitzgerald, currently serving as store manager. He was recognized as the ASE Parts Specialist in 2004 and earned the E.D. Brooks Award for Store of the Year in 2012. Craig deeply loved his family and enjoyed attending his daughter’s dance and piano recitals. He loved to share his love of history and reading with Meredith as well as teaching her to shoot and enjoy the outdoors. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Audrey Luke-Morgan and his daughter: Meredith Susan Morgan, both of Fitzgerald; a sister: Melody Morgan of Irwinville; a half-brother: Shannon Morgan; two step-brothers: Tim Barnes and Darrin Barnes; as well as the Luke family and his Brooks Auto Parts family.
