Elizabeth E. (Holroyd) Feugill, of Methuen, MA died Sunday, Aug. 5th at Nevins Nursing and Rehab Centre in Methuen after a long battle with cancer.
Born in August 1922, she was 89 years of age, just shy of her 90th birthday. Known fondly as Betty, she and her husband John who together graduated from the Edward F. Searles High School in the Class of 1940 were always involved on their Reunion committees. She was a retired employee of the IRS in Andover after 24 years of work in the Accounting Division. A member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Methuen, she sang in their choir. Elizabeth was also a member of the Happy Hearts Choral group of the Methuen Senior Center as well as a member of the local Red Hat Society. Her lifetime hobbies included knitting, crocheting and quilting.
Since being diagnosed with colon cancer, she lived with her son Richard Feugill and his wife Denise. Merrimack Valley Hospice helped care for her. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years John H. Feugill, Jr. and her oldest son Robert Feugill, also a cancer victim.
She leaves behind her son Richard and daughter-in-law Denise of Hampton, NH, 4 grandchildren Erin, Emily and Elise Feugill of Hampton, NH, and Christopher Feugill of Virginia Beach, VA and NH, two nieces Nancy and Jennifer Smith of Methuen.
Burial of the urn is private for the family. A memorial service will be scheduled at St. Andrew’s Church. Arrangements are by Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
