Note:
Willow and Breeze Dean are the Daughter and Son of Arthur and Suzan "RAZ"
Rassmussen-Dean. Arthur Dean has been the Head Caretaker/Building Architect of Camp Vega for the past 30 years. All of the monumental changes and additions many of you have witnessed at Vega over the past 30 years have been designed and built by Arthur.

"RAZ" was the Theatre Department Head at Vega for 12+ summers. Raz and Arthur met at Camp and their relationship blossomed into a love that graced the grounds of Vega and inspired all of us who witnessed it, including Dick.
Raz and Arthur were married at Vega in Sunset Circle and held their reception in the Dinning Hall, both places designed and built by Arthur.
Unfortunately camp is also where Raz' memorial service was held as well.
Raz was killed tragically in a car accident several years ago that took her life but spared their children Willow and Breeze Dean.

Dick had a very deep love for Arthur, Raz, Willow and Breeze as do all of us who know them.

Mr. Courtiss was born on May 2, 1936 in Cambridge, Ma. and grew up in Newton, Ma. He attended Syracuse University in New York, where he excelled at both lacrosse and football.
Dick grew up spending his summers in Maine as a camper where his love for the industry was born. Dick went on to be a counselor, water front director and eventually a camp owner. For the past 30 years until 2004 Dick spent his summers as the owner and director of camp Vega a private girl’s camp in Kents Hill, Maine. Thousand of campers and counselors who passed through the gates at Vega will remember dick as their summer Dad.
When not at camp Mr. Courtiss was an enthusiastic sports fan and an avid supporter of Duxbury Youth Lacrosse.
