The love and laughter of Josephine M. (Grassa) Parsons, age 93, left us on May 22, 2009. She died peacefully at Quincy Medical Center and is formerly of Dorchester, North Quincy and Braintree.

She was born in Roxbury to the late Gaspar and Mary Grassa. Beloved wife of the late Carleton Parsons. Devoted mother of Carl Parsons and his wife Diana of East Bridgewater, Shirley MacLaughlin, Carolyn and her husband Larry Silva and Deanna and her husband David Graves all of CA. Josephine was a very sweet, caring, warm, kind, nurturing and thoughtful person who loved to laugh and was a joy to be around. You could always count on her for an uplifting, encouraging word. She had a smile that would light up a room. She had a beautiful positive outlook on life, she never seemed to worry, she trusted and obeyed God's commands to love Him and others. One of her most familiar sayings was "What are Ya gonna do?" Most importantly, she was a homemaker who loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to help people all through her life and blessed the lives of those she touched.
