Obituary

William E.A. Stowell, 82, of New Bedford died December 29, 2007 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Norma (Barriteau) Stowell.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Asa and Edna Stowell, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Stowell was formerly employed by the New Bedford Housing Authority for many years until retirement. Prior to that, he was the proprietor of Russ & Bill's Restaurant in Weld's Square.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Stowell served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, William Stowell, Jr., and his wife Victoria, Patrick Stowell and Steven Stowell, and his wife Yvonne, all of New Bedford; a daughter, Beth Rocha, and her husband Gary, of Acushnet; a sister, Dorothy Hicks of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren, William, III, Jacob and Benjamin; several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Russell Stowell.
Visiting hours Tuesday, January 1st from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. His funeral service and burial will be private.
