Mary Lou (Hendry) Cassidy, in Worcester, February 12, 2013. Mary Lou was the wife of the late Edward R. Cassidy, to whom she was married for 68 years, devoted mother of Sister Marylou Cassidy, CSJ (Stoneham), Dr. E. Robert Cassidy and his wife Dr. Jianne Gimian (Berkley, Ca) and Dr. Laurie Cassidy (Scranton, PA) and her beloved companion, John Sabo (Sedalia, CO). She was the proud Gramma Lou of Arianna Gimian Cassidy and her husband, Matthew Bald (San Francisco, CA).
Born in Worcester, Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Elizabeth (Carberry) Hendry. She grew up in Medford with her sister Elizabeth(Blackley), who predeceased her. Also surviving Mary Lou are her sisters-in-law Clare (Cassidy) and her husband G. Christopher Condon and Mary Cassidy, as well as many dear nieces and nephews in the Blackley, Condon, Cassidy, and Cocker families.
For more than 50 years, the Cassidy family lived in Holliston, where Mary Lou was active in Town Meeting and St. Mary Parish, and a supporter of the Holliston Food Pantry.
Family and friends are invited to honor Mary Lou by gathering with her family from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, February 17 at Bethany Health Care Center, 95 Bethany Road, Framingham. At 4:00 PM , a Memorial Celebration will commence. (Dates for a Memorial Mass and burial will be shared at a later date.)
Should you wish to make a donation in Mary Lou’s memory, the family suggests recipients might be Notre Dame Long Term Care Sunshine Fund, Worcester, Bethany Health Care Center, Framingham, and Rosie’s Place, Boston, each of which Mary Lou held in high esteem.
The Cassidy family is grateful to the administration, staff and residents of Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living Community and Notre Dame Long Term Care Center for their loving care of Mary Lou and Ed.
