Joyce Cushing (Pratt) Brandsma “Meggie” 75, of Natick passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Metrowest Medical Center of Framingham.
She was the daughter of the late Richard Kellogg Pratt & the late Gladys (Edmands) Pratt Perry. She earned her nursing degree at the University of Florida in Tallahassee and practiced at the Massachusetts General Hospital upon graduation and throughout her working life at many area hospitals.
She is survived by daughters Erika Pallavi Brandsma of Florida & Kirsten Brandsma Hughes & her husband Ronnie of Weymouth, two grandsons Robert Edward Frost, Jr. & his wife Liisa of London & Brett Ryan Frost of San Francisco.
She is also survived by her brother Richard Kellogg Pratt, Jr., her sister Lynn (Pratt) Perry & her brother Wayne P. Perry, many nieces, nephews & her former husband Albert Brandsma.
She was devoted to her dogs & cats, enjoyed Classical Music, the Arts & her many close friends.
Visiting hours in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. at Natick Common on Friday, Feb. 7th, 2014 from 4:00-7:00PM.
Relatives & friends are invited to gather at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 150 Brown St., Weston, MA 02493 on Saturday, Feb. 8th, 2014 at 11:00AM for a memorial service followed by a light luncheon and then an interment in Newton Cemetery, Newton, MA.
