Obituary

Robert ”Don” Scott 83, of Natick and Upton Maine, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Eliot Health Care Center in Natick.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemary (Shaldone) Scott who died in 1995. Born in Natick and a resident for 51 years, he was the son of the late George and Julia (Evans) Scott.

Mr. Scott was the owner of Don Scott Septic Service of South Natick which he founded in 1968 until his retirement in 1981. He had previously worked for the Town of Natick Public Works Highway Department.

Mr Scott was a decorated Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War.

With great Patriotic Spirit Don marched for over 50 years in all of Natick and many area towns parades.

He was a proud member and former Post Commander of the Natick VFW # 1274, member of the Natick AMVETS, American Legion, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Riffle Club.

Don enjoyed his retirement years at his cabin in Upton, Maine where he would fish, hunt and did handyman jobs in area towns. He was a noted collector of items of interest, was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, and played hockey and made frequent family camping trips in his younger years.

He is survived by his three children Robert D. Scott, Jr. and his wife Dorothea of Hopkinton, Donna R. Scott of Framingham, David P. Scott and his wife Mary of Natick, one brother Butch Scott of Colorado, daughter in law Mildred Alves Scott of South Natick, five grandchildren , Robert Scott, Stacey Scott, Alanna Scott, Mike Alves, Joe Alves,two great grandchildren, Robert Scott, Lexi Scott and several nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog Penney.

He was also the father of the late Michael G. Scott who died in 1999.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Service on Saturday, August 3rd at 11:30 A.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery South Natick.

Visiting hours in the Funeral Home are Friday August 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
