Vic and I met through our Millsaps College connection. I visited him in Scarsdale, and he and Jody returned a visit to Georgia. Vic welcomed me as a guest into the WABC studio, and I enjoyed watching him in action behind the mic, where he was a consummate pro. My wife Sandra and I will treasure the memory of our association with him, and we extend our sympathy to his loved ones.

We met Vic through his association with his and our alma mater, Millsaps College. Bill visited the Robys in their Scarsdale home, and enjoyed seeing Vic in action in the WNBC radio studio. The Robys visited us in Georgia, and Vic joined me for a round of golf. We were friends since 1974, and we will treasure memories of our association with him. We offer prayerful sympathy to his family.

Vic was a gentleman, a pro, a mentor. I began my career in Broadcasting in 1959 as a copyboy in the NBC newsroom in New York. While I was working my way through college, he taught me how to behave in the workplace, lessons that stayed with me throughout life. I especially enjoyed working with him on a Saturday radio sports show. He always was calm, always had a smile. He was one of a kind. Vic helped build the NBC News brand. He was respected and will be remembered by those he touched. Mort Fleischner NBC News, 1959-1964 ABC News Senior Producer & Writer, 1973-2005 (Retired) White Plains, NY (914)761-2376

Vic and Jody were wonderful neighbors and friends for many years when my husband John and I lived in Scarsdale. Vic was excellent company and always ready to offer neighborly help. I have happy memories of good times together, and we missed them both when we moved to Chappaqua. With loving sympathy to Jody and her family, Margot Howard

The loss of my beloved uncle Vic has filled our hearts with sadness. Vic was a warm and wonderful man filled with chivalry, grace and charm. I have many rich and fond memories of our trips to Scarsdale and NYC. And, even though Vic was an avid golfer, he was always more than happy to cancel his game and take his niece into NYC to visit NBC. He was not only a mentor, but also a true inspiration to me. His wit, warm smile and laughing eyes always brought true joy to my heart. I loved him dearly and will always miss him. We send our deepest condolences to the entire Roby family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
