Bealah Elliott Pickeral, age 91, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Ashton Place Nursing & Rehab Center in McLeansville, NC where she had been a resident for the past sixteen months.
Born December 31, 1919 in Danville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Morris Elliott and Mattie Lou Stowe Elliott. Mrs. Pickeral was a homemaker and a member of Aycock Fellowship Ministries for over 50 years, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, and was a member of the Women’s Ministries and Treasures Of The Heart. She was predeceased by her husband George Curtis Pickeral.
Survivors include two daughters: Brenda Gay Burnette and her husband Terry Burnette, Nancy P. Lewis and her husband Bob Lewis, Sr.; a daughter-in-law: Peggy G. Pickeral; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; one sister: Mary Seamster of Danville, VA; extended family members Joe and Brenda Stigall, and her wonderful and dear friend at Ashton Place, Lorene Worrell.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three sons: Curtis Wayne Pickeral, Thomas Edward Pickeral, and Charlie Wesley Pickeral.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Ashton Place and the Hospice Staff of Greensboro for their care and support to their mother and grandmother.
Funeral services officiated by Dr. Bobby Lewis, Jr. and Rev. Donnie Pickeral will be held Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Aycock Fellowship Ministries in Greensboro. Interment will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Providence, North Carolina. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
