William Anthony Smith, age 55, of Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013, following a brief illness. Mr. Smith was born on February 25, 1958 in Ocilla, GA to Elsie Eva Merritt Smith and the late Scarber Smith.
Survivors include: his wife, Helen Japuntich Smith of Douglas, GA, two sons, William Christopher Smith of Savannah, GA and John Stanley Walls of Denton, GA, two daughters, Kristy Lynn Smith of Douglas, GA and Angie (Shane) Burkett of Douglas, GA, mother, Elsie Iva Smith, of Douglas, GA, brother, Hardy Smith of Douglas, GA, two sisters, Porcia Rowell of Waycross, GA and Cassie Batten of Ambrose, GA, six grandchildren, Amari Taylor of Douglas, GA, Avery Taylor of Alma, GA, Ethan Taylor of Douglas, GA, Dalton Burkett of Ocala, FL, Nathan Smith of Savannah, GA, and Jessie Jones Walls of Denton, GA. He is preceded in death his father Scarber Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 6-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Pastor Gregory Pope officiating. Interment to follow at DeBerry Baptist Church Cemetery, Old Fitzgerald Hwy, Wray, GA.
