Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Hughes Larney, age 85, passed away at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Larney was born Sept. 26, 1927 in Utica, NY to the late James Edward Hughes and Ruth Lillian Schmidt Hughes. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Ivan Ray Larney; two sons Asa Larney and Ivan Larney and two brothers Robert Hughes and James Hughes.
Survivors include: Three sons: Monroe (Earsie Ann) Larney, Douglas,GA;Francis James (Elizabeth) Larney,Douglas, GA; Charles Larney, Yalaha, FL; two daughters: Donna Marie Fussell, Douglas, GA and Patricia Napoli (Fiance' Mike), Winter Haven, FL;Daughter-in-Law Karen Larney, Axson, GA; Nineteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 6 to 9 PM at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral service for Mrs. Larney will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11:00 am at Sims Chapel with the Rev.Toby Gail officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Ambrose, Ga.
