A Thanksgiving Message A message of thanksgiving for Sue’s presence in our lives After several days of reflecting on memories of Sue over the past 60 years, many events come to mind that I have of visiting and playing with my cousins in East Lyme at the Groark’s home, New York City and in Wayland and Waltham. But what came to mind instantly for me when I received the sad news of her passing, was what a loving spirit she had. I always felt comfortable in her presence because I knew I would never be judged. Unconditional love was there for me. One of my earliest memories of Sue was her profound beauty. Her bright blue eyes, blond hair and dazzling smile stayed with her throughout her entire life. She was a beauty at any age. I recall vividly at Sue and Nick’s wedding, sitting in the church when I was just 5 years old, she looked like a princess coming down the aisle. As a young girl, I was in awe. Few individuals in this world are blessed with both inner beauty as well as outer beauty and Sue was one of them. She lived her entire life with kindness and compassion. It was in the fabric of her being. She had loving kindness for all of mankind. No judgment, no impartiality, no prejudice. Her career in social work, and community involvement and volunteerism clearly illustrate her compassionate and empathetic nature and willingness to help under any circumstance. Sue lived her life with unconditional love by being an example of loving kindness. This is the gift she has given our family and all who knew her. Although she has passed, her spirit lives on in as we treasure this precious gift she has given us. This Thanksgiving Day, 2018, our greatest blessing is the gift of learning how to be great human beings because we had Sue in our lives.

I never met Suzanne but I had heard a lot about her from her daughter Anne. May you RIP Suzanne.

Dear Dick and family, I have so many fond memories of Sue and your entire family! We enjoyed spending time with you all up at the ‘camp’ on Balch Lake as kids. We always had such fun together and looking back, I can see how much your ‘Xerox’ group had fun together! It takes a special woman to become such good friends with her husbands’ work buddies and families, and Sue was just that type of person. Always asking about others, giving of herself to all she met, and just such a happy, positive person. God bless and sincere condolences from the entire Donnelly clan! Go peacefully into the arms of the Lord.

I was a classmate of Sue's at the old WMI. There were a group of us who frequently ate lunch together and also shared most of the same classes. The group included : Pat Hoag, Betty Jerome, Margie Chandliss, The Stone twins as well a a few others whose names escape me. Sue was a very positive person who literally never seemed out-of-sorts. The world was indeed a better place for her having been in it. She had a cousin who was a reporter for " The Day" whose fairness was greatly appreciated by my people in the Mohegan Tribe during our quest for federal recognition. Age has let her name escape me. If she is known to you, please extend my lifelong gratitude to her. Fairness is a rarer commodity than most realize. With sympathy for your great loss, Jayne Grandchamp Fawcett

Sue was a wonderful friend. I missed not seeing her over the past few years as family obligations kept me from traveling. She has always been in my heart and I remember fondly the many talks we had at CNR, also trips to Jones Beach with our children when we both were first married. Please know that I am thinking of you and praying for you, Dick.
