To the Heineman family, I know this time is very difficult for one and all. Keep in mind all the happy times that have been spent together and all of the happy times that will come from the memories. This is from the heart and experience. With all of love, the Wehbe family.

Please accept our sincere sympathy for your loss. John was voted one of two "Most Musical" members of our high school class and well remembered as a "brain"! These are things he may not have shared with you. We hope they will make you smile at this most difficult time for you, as we do as we remember John.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Dr Heineman's family. I was privileged to take four of his classes through Lifelong Learning. I didn't get to go to college but I felt like I was finally getting a chance to learn from the best. He answered my questions after class and gave me additional reading recommendations.

John was a great friend and college roommate. We particularly enjoyed playing in the band at Notre Dame and a couple band reunions after graduation. I am only sorry I did not get to know his sons and their families as I am sure they followed the example of a genuine academic, catholic gentleman. Helen and John had an exemplary married life of great joy but, as always, ending in an unrequited sorrow of loss. Their 55 years of marriage was a blessing, as I myself have experienced, and paved the way to eternal rewards. God bless John and may he rest in peace.
