As so many have observed, Scott made this world a better place--not for himself, but for others. He was very perceptive. He’d see the talents of individuals and would quietly encourage their efforts. In his own unique way Scott was always motivating people to give their best. He earned the respect of everyone who came to known him because Scott himself was the epitome of respect. The influence of the positive way he lived his life is unfathomable. Indeed this impact exponentially continues in all of us who were blessed to have crossed his path.

While I never met your son, reading about his personality eminded me of my son, Chad. First, let me say that sometimes there are no words, but I am so very sorry for your loss. My husband and I lost our 18 year old son, Chad, on 9/4/09 due to a rollover car accident. Chad was handsome inside and out as I can tell Scott was. In a picture I saw of the both of you with your son getting an award I saw your love and pride shine through. There are no words for a parent's pain as they travel this road of grief. If I can offer any help or if you ever just want to talk, I will try to help. Chad was a three season athlete and a popular kid who never let his ability go to his head. He didn't care who you were he said he liked 99.5% of the people he met. Something tells me that Scott was the same. God Bless.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you – Linda, Joe and Joey. Scott has touched so many people in a fantastically positive way. Some of the things that thinking of Scott through the years brings to mind - great teammate and loyal friend, loving son, respectful teenager, serious student, a joy to coach, quiet leader, revered his older brother, tenacious defender with deceptive speed, the “scott” haircut, budding color analyst, proud to call his dad coach, ready to lend a hand, selfless/selfless/selfless … missing you, Coach Leone and family

I was fortunate to have Scott in Spanish class for 2 years. He was always so polite, quiet, and hard-working. I know Spanish wasnt his favorite subject, yet he would always take initiative and come for extra help. I remember on parent night saying that I wish I had a classroom of Scotts. Not something you can say often. When I heard Scott had won the P. Matthews award, my first thought was that there couldnt have been a better choice. God bless him and your family.

Canton, MA,
I read of your loss--losing a child is the hardest. I'm so sorry. BLEEDING HEARTS Because of illness and tragic events Families are forced to say goodbye Talking, Tears and Time Are the keys to help those left to cry. Life changes for many when a life ends It’s not easy at that time to stay sane In your loved ones’ hearts and minds is where Throughout their lifetime you will remain. You will be remembered and loved — The love stays and grows more intense Memories of the heart are forever Right now nothing may make any sense. When death grows close for those left behind What comfort to know there will be A loved one waiting at Heaven’s door Embracing them to God’s Spiritual Family. —Joanne Wheeler
