Auntie, you were the most wonderful, kind and over-the-top generous person I have ever met. You gave to people, including myself, without wanting anything in return or any recognition for it. I will miss our conversations, emails, texts and our hugs. I'll miss seeing your smile and hearing your infectious laugh. You were the "coolest" aunt, so fun-loving, so energetic, so independent, so non-judgmental. I can't believe you're gone. You will forever be in my heart and thoughts. Until we meet again.... My staff and I were shocked and saddened to hear about Mrs. Sykes' passing. We can still envision her with her signature silver-white hair and her constant smile. We can still hear her voice crackle with her backhanded humor and we can still see that little twinkle in her eye when she knew she was being funny, which was quite often. She always seemed so full of positivity, and though we only got to see her once in a while for the past 30 years, she was always a breath of fresh air to us and she will not be forgotten any time soon.
