Jill and Laura, I would have driven in to see you both, but I'll be in Great Barrington all weekend for my niece Katie's wedding. Wrong direction, and rehearsal/dinner are Friday afternoon/evening. I never knew May was so much younger than Silvia: my mom died in 2007 at 89 1/2, and your mom is just now 91! Hugs to you both, Sue

Dear Jill and Laura, I am sorry about your Mom. The last time I saw my own mother alive was when I brought May to visit her. My mother could no longer talk or walk. May sat next to her, held her hand and told her how glad she was to see her, how much she loved her. My mom smiled throughout, and kept quietly chuckling on and off. I had never seen or heard her do this. It was lovely to see these 2 old friends together. May was obviously a source of great pleasure for my Mom. It is a sweet memory. I hope you and your kids are all well and happy. Love, Birdie
