Ray Hamilton Newby
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the Medical College of Georgia, Ray Newby, 44.
Ray Hamilton Newby was a lifelong member of the Augusta area. He graduated from Westside High School in 1984, was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked at the Augusta Training Shop. Ray was very thoughtful and sweet to other people. He enjoyed collecting picture postcards, and matchbooks.
Family members include: parents: Clarence “Ray” and Barbara Newby of Augusta, sister: Holly N. Fox (Chris) of Augusta, one niece: Anna Grace Fox, two nephews: Christian and Austin Fox. Mr. Newby was preceded in death by his grandparents: Clyde and Carnie Newby, and Robert and Myra Smith.
The family wishes to thank the many hands and hearts that cared for Ray. His caretakers will be his honorary pallbearers: Lori Johann, Freddy Bennett, Sandra Beacham, Eddie Jones, and Sara Moore.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Jacob O. Malone officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
