Claudia Wanner Shearer
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest December 29, 2013, Mrs. Claudia Wanner Shearer, 65, wife of Mr. Russell F. Shearer.
Mrs. Shearer was born in Gary, Indiana, but made Augusta her home. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and a member of the Monday Morning Crafters. Mrs. Shearer also participated in the Leila Cofer Circle. She was the longtime Chairman of the Alter Guild and Chaired the Pictorial Directory Committee.
Family members in addition to her husband include son: Russell F. Shearer, Jr. (Mariah) of Atlanta; daughter: Stacey Plooster (Tyler) of Evans; parents: Donald and Joan Wanner of Augusta; brother: Fritz Wanner (Tricia) of Big Canoe, GA; sister: Megan Gwinn (Stan) of Newark, DE; and grandchildren: Skyler Plooster and Shelby Plooster.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark United Methodist Church, Washington Road, with Rev. Charles Broome officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Walker Family Cemetery c/o Russell F. Shearer at 2302 Canebrake Court, Augusta, GA 30907.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Church.
