Yurt, Alvin C., 82, of Bardstown, KY passed away on January 24, 2010 at Jewish Hospital.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and WWII. Alvin was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Bardstown, KY and retired from General Electric.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 59 ½ years, Wanda Taylor Yurt; children, Alvin Yurt, Jr., Wayne Yurt (Loretta), Donna Yurt, Tom Yurt, Laura Cobb (Norris), and Shannon Bishop (Chris); brother, Bill Yurt (Venita); sister, Mary Goff; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 11am on Thursday at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, with entombment in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
