Obituary

Joseph P. Gilmore, Jr. of Canton died January 28, 2013, following a long illness. He was 82 years old.

Joe was a retired truck driver for the Teamsters Local Union # 49. He worked for Winslow Trucking of S. Boston, Quinn Freight Lines of Brockton, Mohawk Flooring of Walpole, and Arrow Trucking. He served in in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2095 in Canton.

Devoted husband of the late Mary A. Gilmore (Silva). Father of Joseph A. Gilmore and his wife Margaret of E. Walpole, Kathleen A. Moriarty of Canton, Jeanne E. Hall of Hingham, Mary C. Bailey and her husband Jeff of Stow, Joan M. Plothow and her husband Jacques of Indiana, Theresa F. Harrington and her husband Kenneth of Florida , Kevin P. Gilmore and his wife Teresita of Canton, Paul M. Gilmore and his wife Sally of Seekonk, Susan M. Pires of North Carolina, James P. Gilmore of Stoughton, Mark E. Gilmore and his wife Michele of N. Attleboro and the late Patricia E. Gilmore. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Brother of the late John P. Gilmore, Mary Reid, and Paul Gilmore

Visiting hours Sunday from 2-6 in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman St., Canton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday February 4, 2013 at 10:30 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church 700 Washington St., Canton. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
