Elizabeth Lawrence Van Meter, Of Sharon died November 30, 2012 at the age of 93.
Beloved wife of 55 years to Reverend Dale L. Van Meter. Loving mother of Julia Wood of Sharon and Amelia Lydon of Gilmanton, NH and the late Laura Van Meter. Cherished grandmother of Hannah Wood Sykes and her husband, Jonathan of Columbia, MD, Dale Wood of Norton, Nicholas Lydon of Gilmanton, NH and Kevin Lyden of Mansfield and great grandmother of Christiana Sykes, Logan and Alisson Wood and Lyrah and Gabriel Lydon. Devoted daughter of the late Right Reverend William Appleton Lawrence, Bishop of the Diocese of Western Massachusetts and Hannah Wheelwright Cobb Lawrence. Dear sister of Susan Hazard of NY, NY, Reverend Charles Lawrence of Lexington, KY, Sarah “Sally” Clark of Scarborough, ME, Hannah “Nancy” Schuller of Cambridge, Samuel Lawrence of Chevy Chase, MD and the late William “Bill” Lawrence.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in Celebration of Elizabeth’s Life on Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Saint John’s Episcopal Church, 23 High Street, Sharon. Interment will be private. Those who wish may make a donation in her memory to The Dana –Farber Cancer Research Institute, 44 Binney Street, Bosotn, MA 02215.
