Charles Roger Bagby, Jr., age 52, of Martinez, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday morning in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Charles loved his family and had spent the previous day at Hershey Park with his children. He attended the wedding of a cousin that evening.
Charles was born in Augusta and graduated from the Academy of Richmond County. He went on to graduate from the University of Georgia and was a graduate of Leadership Augusta 2001. Charles had an infectious personality which made him a successful insurance agent. Later becoming a real estate agent with Blanchard and Calhoun- he was the 2015 Rookie of the Year, and recipient of the Leadership Council Awards for 2015, 2016, and 2017. Charles was a member of the Greater Augusta Association of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.
Charles was known for his dedication to his children, his family, and his job.
He is survived by his three children, Parks, Pierce, and Phoebe of Martinez; his parents, Roger and Martha Anne Bagby of Augusta; sister, Diane Jenkins (Roger) of Evans; nieces, Brianne Jenkins Klein and Brooke Jenkins, both of Evans; uncles and aunts, Jimmy Bagby (Linda) of Augusta, David Gibbs (Dee) of Grovetown, Gloria Bagby of Martinez, and Sara Edmondson of Huntsville, Alabama; and many loving cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. on Friday at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road.
A celebration of Charles’ life will take place at his beloved church, Quest Church (5001 Gateway Boulevard, Grovetown) on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. His pastor and dear friend, Reverend John Kenney will officiate. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Charles’ legacy will live on through his decision to become a bone and tissue donor. One donor can improve the lives of over 70 people.
