Obituary

Evans, GA – On Friday, August 3, 2018 David Wolfe won his battle over ALS and is now home with Almighty God. He passed away peacefully at home and was comforted by his wife of 27 years, Cindy; his two daughters, Amanda and Amelia; and his parents, Gary and Lavetta.

David was born in Bowling Green, KY and grew up in Nashville, TN. After graduating from Tennessee Technological University with an Electrical Engineering degree, David began a 30-year career at the Savannah River Site where he built many long-lasting friendships held dear even after retirement.

David was fascinated by how things work and ever-changing technologies. He was a licensed ham radio operator. He played the piano. He and his family loved to camp, hike, and hunt for waterfalls. David enjoyed geocaching. He loved sports with college football being his favorite. GO SEC!

David was passionate about his relationship with God through Jesus Christ and teaching others how to have and live out that relationship. David taught in various capacities at Warren Baptist Church leading from a transparent, imperfect voice and wanting others to find the truth in God’s Word. David also served as a deacon.

In addition to his wife, daughters, and parents, survivors include his brother, Kevin (Valerie) of Enid, OK, and a large loving extended family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on August 7, 2018 at Warren Baptist Church with Dr. David McKinley, Rev. Brett Legg, and Rev. Lane Lowery officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Richard Blume, Tad Dickinson, Ross Beavers, Phil French, David McClure, Chuck Bishop and Joel Ray.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacon body of Warren Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Augusta University Health ALS Clinic and SouthEast Hospice for their loving care during David’s illness.

If so desired, memorials may be made to Warren Baptist Church Spiritual Formations Ministry, 3203 Washington Rd. Augusta, GA 30907 or the ALS Foundation at alsa.org.
