Jeannette F. Guertin, 84, of Fifth Ave., Woonsocket, died Tuesday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of Francis X. Guertin. They were married on July 31, 1966.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Florida (Laird) Lefebvre. She resided in Woonsocket for most of her life and lived in Blackstone for several years in her youth.
In her younger years Mrs. Guertin was employed at several area businesses including Forte Brothers, Lance & Hubbard, Inc., and Heidi Bridal Shop. She later worked for Ampex Electronics in North Smithfield as an Engineering Aide for almost 30 years before retiring.
During her retirement years Jeannette enjoyed spending winters in Florida. She was also adept at square dancing and playing cards.
Jeannette will be remembered as a happy person who treasured the simple things in life. Her favorite times were those spend with her beloved husband Francis and their family and close friends.
In addition to her husband of 46 years, she is survived by her brother Normand Lefebvre of Clinton, CT., and well as two nephews. She was the sister of the late George, Robert, and Gloria Lefebvre.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8 pm. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38015.
