When I was studying at St. John's Seminary, I worked at the switchboard of St. Mary's Hall, the main residence for J's at BC and where I first met Fr. Monan. He would stop by for his messages and we would shoot da "shyt," about the day etc. If we would be discussing heavy topics and end up really arguing, and I losing, I invariably ended the conversation by asking him how he reconciles driving a new Volvo with his vow of Poverty! Lol Fr. Chris Sullivan, SJ, the "COO" of St. Mary's lent me a room to "crash" in if I had to stay overnight. Right next to Fr. Monan's. I have not only lost a Friend but a "Roomie" as well!
