Obituary

Ivory Bell Ford Mahama was born March 7, 1935 to the late Dock Ford and Sallie Ford. She departed this life on April 13, 2007 at Huntsville Hospital.

She became a Christian at an early age and became a member of the Pentecostal Church in Chicago, Illinois. She loved serving the Lord and sought to please Him in every way. She was active in various church auxiliaries, always willing to do what was needed; always on the alert as to how she could help, comfort, and cheer others.

Ivory was preceded in death by her husband, David Mahama; her son, Robert Milton, her brother, Milton Ford and her sister, Ethel Burks.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Earnest Milton, Jr. and his wife, Anna of Huntsville, Alabama; two daughters: Melva Powers and her husband, Edison of Lansing, Michigan and Barbara Shiel and her husband, Robert of Staten Island, New York; daughter-in-law, Jackie Milton of Detroit, Michigan; five sisters: Inella Erskine, Rosa Bradford, both of Huntsville, Alabama, Pearlene Drake and her husband, Thomas of El Paso, Texas, Mary Readus of Lansing Michigan, and Juelene Humphrey and her husband, Leo of Hazel Green, Alabama; two brothers: Fred Ford of Lansing, Michigan and Harry Ford and his wife, Ella of Lansing, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a very special niece, Sherri Drake; two longtime special friends, Amanda Drake and Annie Dean, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ivory Bell Mahama will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday from the Flint River P. B. Church with Reverend R. L. Payton officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery. The remains of Mrs. Mahama will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
