Obituary

FINN, Lynn Marie (Murphy)- Of Lynnfield, May 28th, after a long battle with cancer at the young age of 43. Lynn was born in Arlington, grew up in Malden and lived in Lynnfield for the last 17 years of her life. She was the proud mother of her daughter Alexis and her son CJ, and the loving wife of her husband Chris, with whom she shared the last 25 years of her life.

In addition to her immediate family, Lynn leaves behind her parents, Paul and Donna Murphy of Melrose, her brother Paul Murphy and his wife Jeanne of Melrose and her sister Charlene Schiavo of Malden. Lynn leaves behind her many in-laws, many of whom saw Lynn as more than just a sister-in-law. They are her brother-in-law Stephen Finn and his wife Toni of Melrose, brother-in-law Gary Finn and his wife Brenda of Tewksbury, brother-in-law Joe Finn of Malden, sister-in-law Eileen Finn of Malden, brother-in-law Tim Finn and his wife Laura of Stoneham, brother-in-law Dennis Finn of Malden, brother-in-law Kevin Finn of Saugus, brother-in-law Paul Finn of Salem, NH, sister-in-law Kathleen Finn of Malden, sister-in-law Maureen DiGiovanni and her husband Peter of Malden, and her brother-in-law Barry and Colleen Kelleher of Tewksbury. Lynn also leaves behind many close friends who meant a great deal to her, but none more than Cathy Bonafine, who was more like a sister than a friend. Lynn is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews.

Bobo, as she was known to her family and friends, touched a great deal of people in her short time, and was very active in the lives of her children. After growing up and graduating from Malden High School in 1986, she worked in the private sector for a number of years until leaving to raise her family in 1995. She spent the last 10 years juggling the joys of motherhood with part time employment at the Paul T. Murphy Insurance Agency in Malden. She was a girl scout troop leader for 4 years, active volunteer at Huckleberry Hill Elementary School through her children’s years there and most recently spent the last 5 years either being a team mom or assistant coordinator for the youth cheerleading program in Lynnfield. Lynn also volunteered many a weekend at the snack shack located at Lynnfield’s football field. Lynn’s biggest joy came from being a mom and a wife, both at which she excelled. The number one fan of Alexis and CJ, she never missed a school or sporting event in which either child was participating. The loving wife of Chris, Lynn always stood by his side and made him a better man. Lynn made a tremendous impact on those she met and will be greatly missed. Satisfied with her life, Lynn’s only disappointment is that she will miss Alexis’ wedding and watching CJ play high school football from the stands.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Funeral Mass celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 758 Salem Street, Lynnfield on Wednesday, June 1st at 10 AM.
