COOPER, Phyllis A. (Cronin)- Of Malden, June 8th. Devoted wife of the late retired Malden Fire Dept. Captain Paul H. Cooper, Sr. Beloved mother of Eileen Collins and her husband Charles of Reading, Paul H. Cooper, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Malden and Richard J. Cooper and his wife Alice of Gloucester. Dear sister of Grace Giordano of Chelsea, Mary Panzica of Brighton and the late Margaret Dewsnap, Zita Lyons, William Cronin and Camilla Keohane. Cherished grandmother of Kristen DeLuco, Elizabeth, Michael and Kathleen Cooper. Also lovingly survived by her great grandchildren, Alyssa and Sarah DeLuco as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Friday, June 18th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody.
Born in Chelsea and a graduate of St. Rose High School, Phyllis passed away at the Dexter House Nursing Center in Malden at the age of 90. Phyllis moved to Malden's Linden section after her marriage to Paul, where their home was always the meeting place for family and friends. Phyllis worked for over 25 years as a telephone operator for New England Telephone and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Phyllis was known for her beautiful hand-stitched quilts.
