William James Carroll, of Plymouth formerly of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, passed away at home at the age of 81 on November 10th. Survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Dolores (Sullivan) of Plymouth and his 6 children Jane Paladino of Garfield Heights, OH; Wayne Carroll and his wife Diana of West Babylon, NY; Jeffrey Carroll and his wife Dara of Amesbury; Lynn Gallagher and her husband James of Red Hook, NY; William Carroll of Wantagh, NY and Stacey Miller and her husband Ken of Manomet (Plymouth). He also leaves his brother James Carroll and his wife Sue of FL, his 8 cherished grandchildren Christopher, Keith, Matthew, Brian, Laura Beth, Emily, Katelyn, and Kenneth and was the beloved uncle to many. Bill was born in Manhattan, NY and was a New York City police officer for 27 years. He served in the U.S Army as a military police officer with the 40th Military Police Company and received the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star. After living in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY for 27 years, he and his family moved to Plymouth where he was a member of the Moose Lodge 2485, enjoyed fishing and golfing and remained a huge NY Giants and Rangers fan. Bill was a member of the NY City Emerald Society, the Holy Name Society, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Patrolman’s Benevolent Association and the Knights of Columbus. He especially loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 16th at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 11 AM followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Saturday, November 14th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Sunday, November 15th from 1 to 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Cr, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360 or to the Plymouth Moose Lodge 2485.
