I was so terribly sorry to hear of the passing of my dear friend Sal. His beloved wife Marie called me to tell me the news last weekend. I met Sal and Marie when they rented at the Grand Atlantic, a condo complex where I make my home. They always came in August and I anxiously awaited their arrival. We would talk on the beach for long periods of time. We would have dinner together whether in a restaurant or in my condo. I really enjoyed their company. Sal loved to play bocci with the "guys" so when one of the woman who lives here wanted to play he said something to the effect that "hey, this is a guys game." The other gentlemen responded that the ladies played also. Well, Sal got used to that but boy oh boy when the woman won the game Sal just couldn't believe it. I won't say any more but I laugh every time I think of what he said......... God Bless him. He was a good man and my thoughts are with Marie and their beloved daughter.
