Obituary

Roy Vincent Belur PhD., 81 Died Friday, January 14, at Orchard Cove in Canton. He was a resident of Arlington for the past 20 years, previously living in Norwood. He received his Doctorate at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Belur worked as a Clinical Bio-Chemist for the FDA of Winchester retiring over 10 years ago. He was an usher and the girls basketball coach at St. Catherine’s of Siena Parish in Norwood. He was also a volunteer at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Belur was also a member of the Lions Club of Arlington. An avid gardener, in his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Carmen Brogie and her husband Matthew of Sutton, MA, Pete Belur and his fiancé Rita Cook of Rhode Island, Ellen Mullaley and her husband John of Canton and Vince Belur of Stoughton. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren. Victoria, Francis, Zachary and Molly Brogie of Sutton, Cheryl, Daniel and Brendan Mullaley of Canton and Catherine Belur of Stoughton
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 22, at St. Catherine’s of Siena Parish, 549 Washington St, Norwood at 9AM. Visiting hours omitted. Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, 124 Watertown St. Suite 2D, Watertown, MA 02472.
